The Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people were once nomadic populations. They migrated thousands of years ago and arrived here in Australia, where they have formed special connections with the land.

The past is something many people cherish but to the natives of this land, it represents hardships and sufferings. They had to endure a long period of colonization. Throughout the years, many families have been torn apart, some of them have seen violence and bloodshed.

The Indigenous people of today

Even through tough times, these populations have fought for their rights and freedom. However, they still have to reconcile with their past and try to move on to a better future. Many issues still exist in today's society and it is still an ongoing battle for them to get recognized.
